Love is Love by PaleoClipperArt Love is Love by PaleoClipperArt
A stamp based on DusterAmaranth's deviation called "Love Mathematics".
Sadly he was attacked by several religious people due to the original animation quoting a ~ahem~ peaceful verse from the bible that contradicts the awful one about homosexuals.

Regardless of religion, or what dogma may teach you, love is love. Period.

Oh, fyi, I'm not gay, but I will stand up for anyone who is.

I may be Catholic, but I completely agree! God wouldn't wouldn't make people homosexual if "He" didn't love them!

Great job, friend!

Some churches and such around my neighborhood  HATE people who are Homosexual. It sickens me. I myself am homosexual, and I'm just glad my school and church accepts Homosexual individuals.

Sorry about my short rant, just needed to get that out....

No, you go ahead and rant. I'm bigendered, that's an even harder one to get people to accept. So you go ahead and rant.

*also bisexual, but that's another thing people are like "naah, you're just jealous of her."...no...no i'm not. i actually think that she is sexy and have an urge to hit on her*

Not a problem. I don't mind if people rant. I'm actually taking to youtube to respond to the extremely long comments left on some of my stamps. Works better that way; though I ranted for an  hour one time and had to redo the video. >.<

God said in the bible that "If a man lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination and they shall surely be put to death."
so....we surely can't go against god now can we!?

I'm being sarcastic btw- personally I view the world as there is no god, and the bible is a lie.

Well, that can be seen in other way too. Someone suggested that it originally meant "Don't rape your prisoner of war". Or because that time women were not equal to men, raping women was not illegal or frowned upon. But raping man, putting him on the same level as women was horrible and punishable thing to do. Like how Lot protected two stranger men from being gang raped by another males but offered instead his own daughters to them.
Or you can see it as a "No shit Sherlock, you can't have Sexual intercourse same way with another man like you can have with women, cause men doesn't have girl parts"
Or even "It says nothing about sitting or standing :eyes: "

Or maybe because premarital sex was oh so wrong during that time and two men cannot get married...

Or something along those lines.

(Me too, but some people think they can't be together until the other have become a member of same religion, which I think is pretty stupid)

Never heard about the rape interpretation before. But I digress, there are so many conflicting views in the bible that if people just read the thing front to back, and took notes, I think at the very least there would be a lot more doubters out there.

Seth, of TheThinkingAtheist, actually did a podcast on that last subject: Can believers and non-believers have a healthy relationship. It was a very interesting show, lots of differing opinions. As per the religious being in a relationship- it's typically the church/religious teachings that tell them the other must convert. In the Roman Catholic church if the person is, say Baptist, they still must be re-baptized in the R.Catholic church in order to be considered a member. Otherwise, a priest will not marry the couple. Oh, a R.Catholic priest also cannot marry someone outside of a church, so forget having an outdoor wedding with them.

I think non-believer and believer or Buddhist and Muslim for example can love each other even if their religions are different. love conquers all, or something like that. Or maybe I'm just naive.

I personally would not mind what my partner would believe in as long as that person would not try to convert me.

Well...the following is a good start as to why some religious teachings don't like homosexuality
* Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."1
* Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them"
* 1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
* Rom. 1:26-28, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper."

I don't know what version of the bible that is from, but clearly those verses are rather hateful. At least the way I see anyway. But then again, I personally see the bible as a source of hate and intolerance towards alot of things.

Note that in pretty much all those instances the original text said boy not man and the original text did not mention homosexuality at all. Check the early German translation that predates King James and you'll see what I mean.

I find it funny that there's all of what, 7 mistranslated admonitions against this yet there are hundreds of admonitions against straights over how they are allowed to be together. **shakes head** Add to that the fact that Christianity and related faiths are all plagiarized religions that stole their stories from other cultures and added laws and rules to suit their own ends. The 10 Commandments were taken directly from the Egyptian Book of the Dead and the Story of Christ was directly taken from the story of Horus (among others). So yeah. But don't take my word for it, have a look at Zeitgeist part 1, and do your own research from there. I did.

I have a really nice 1860's bible at home that states Man in that particular passage.

Yep! Hell, "Christmas" is coming up and as part of the museums (I'm a curator) celebration is a week long Winter Festivals poster exhibit. Each poster is a different winter celebration. Of course Christmas has one, and I fully intend to expose just how much of the decorations and such are from previous celebrations (winter solstice mostly).

It really surprised me when I stopped believing in Christianity how much of it was actually stollen.

It's still after the text was altered. Trust me on this one.

**nods** Good, maybe people will open their eyes and see the truth of that.

Agreed. It all originates with the ancient sun cults from several thousand years ago, and it's all based on Astrology, which is based solely on Astrological alignments and movements of planets and stars and how they interact and affect each other through gravitational and geo-magnetic tugging on each other. THAT is the real science behind Astrology and the scientific facts in Astronomy back it up as a proven and legitimate science, not hokey pokey pseudo-science like psychology that people use do condemn each other for being a little bit different. **facepalms**

snicker~ Well, my friend is studying to become a child psychologist, but at the same time is also studying to become a pre-school teacher. So in a way it will help her. But I also agree in that people use it to condemn each other. So what if I'm a bit hostel when it comes to the idea of religion? It doesn't make me crazy. (personally I think it makes me a bit more sane...but yah..)

Problem with psychology is that too many get on some power trip and think they can claim this or that is wrong with you when it's not. I was told I was ADHD, ADD, ODD, Bipolar, and other things and I am none of those. What I do have is PTSD and Systemic Depression as well as environmental hyper sensitivity. Weird I know, but eh, I deal with it.
